What is Nitronox?

At Caring Center for Women, our board-certified OB/GYNs (Drs. Teresa Irwin, Barrett Blaue, Kari Fay, Beth Reid, and Brittney Schumann, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.) provide Nitronox sedation in order to allow our patients to experience more comfortable procedures. A combination of nitrous oxide (N2O) and oxygen (O2), Nitronox is safe and effective for reducing pain, offering relaxing treatments for patients. Our team at our New Braunfels, TX location utilizes Nitronox for a number of procedures, including aesthetic, gynecological, and urological treatments. Learn more about the advantages of Nitronox and determine if it may be an option for you by contacting Caring Center for Women to schedule your initial consultation. We look forward to hearing from you!

Is Nitronox Right For Me?

The combination of N2O and O2 has been used for decades and is considered safe for managing anxiety and pain during nonsurgical treatments. At Caring Center for Women, we utilize Nitronox as an in-office anesthetic for minor procedures. Prior to treatment, our team will talk with you about your medical history, current medications, and health concerns in order to determine if you are an ideal candidate for Nitronox. The gaseous solution is administered through a mask that covers the mouth and nose; therefore, no needles or additional medications are necessary for this form of sedation

What To Expect

After it has been decided that Nitronox is available for your procedure, we will schedule your minor treatment to be performed in one of our spacious rooms. Prior to the start of your procedure, the Nitronox facial mask will be applied over the nose and mouth. Nitronox includes a self-admitting technique, meaning that the patient will have control over the emission of the gas with physician supervision. Nitronox will not put the patient to sleep, and once the mask is removed, the gas mixture will leave their system in about 5 – 10 minutes. Most patients are able to return to their normal daily routine once the gas has worn off.
